Hi All! It's another great day in the beautiful twin island State of Antigua and Barbuda. We hope you enjoyed your weekend with the vibrant displays from the grand opening of Antigua's Carnival, one of the Caribbean's greatest summer festivals.

The festivities continue throughout the week with Antigua's 'Queen of Carnival Competition' which was held yesterday and the newly crowned Ranee Laronde going on to represent Antigua in the Jaycees Caribbean Queen Competition.

Later on today, we will have The Source 'Teen Splash' pageant featuring students from 12 schools across the island participating for a chance to win The Source Teen Splash crown. The admission is $20.00 EC.

On Wednesday 1st August, LIAT will be presenting the 'Melting Pot' concert titled "We are the ones", celebrating local artists who have been in the Calypso art form for 50 years. The concert will feature performances by King Short Shirt, Tian Winter, Onyan, King Obstinate and many more. The admission is $35.00 EC.

We invite you to come out on Thursday 2nd August at the Antigua Recreation Grounds to witness steel pan music at its finest. The ACB Panorama is a steel pan competition featuring bands of all ages exercising rhythmic mastery of the steel drum, providing entertainment for the masses. The admission to this event is $20.00 EC.

On Friday 3rd of August, the Antigua Recreation Grounds will play host to the Jaycees Caribbean Queen Show where one can see beauties from the different Caribbean islands compete in pageantry for this year’s Jaycees Caribbean Queen Crown. This event will begin at 8:00 pm and the admission is $25.00 EC.

Now, turning the spot light to what's happening around Antigua's real estate market.

Here’s what’s happening over the weekend:

• Bacchanal Fete – It’s Bacchanal again! This all inclusive fete will take place on Friday 27th July at Standford Trust, Pavilion Drive. There will be entertainment featuring Tian Winter and the iConic Band, Ricardo Drue, DJ Jime, Selecta J and Ki and 3VENI from Trinidad and Tobago. Tickets are available from Divas and Elegant Steps. Admission is $100.00 EC in advance.
   
• Opening of Carnival 2012 – The grand opening of the Caribbean’s greatest summer festival, Antigua’s Carnival, will kick off on Saturday 28th July in St. John’s, with the parade and Tee Shirt Mas on display. Come out and experience the vibrant and festive atmosphere.
   
• Junior Calypso Monarch – Come out on Sunday 29th July to witness the young hopefuls battle it out in song in the Junior Calypso Monarch Competition. This event will be held at the Antigua Recreation Grounds in St. John’s.
