Long Bay Beach is located on the Eastern Coast of Antigua, enjoying cool breezes from the steady trade winds. This pristine stretch of beach is washed by the crystal blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean and protected by an inshore reef which provides for the perfect snorkeling experience. Also located at Long Bay is the luxurious Long Bay Hotel, one of the first hotels built on the island and began operation in 1966 offering world class service with a unique Caribbean twist. Within a short drive from Long Bay is one of Antigua’s most famed attractions, the Devil’s Bridge formation which is a natural limestone arch carved by the sea from the breaking waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Devil's Bridge has a historical significance as it was a location where slaves from the neighbouring estates would use to commit suicide by hurling themselves off of it to either drown or be thrown against the rocks by the rough waves of the Atlantic. In local folklore, if you take a fresh egg to Devil's Bridge, and throw it into the water, that egg would then come back up hard boiled.
