The island is gearing up for one of its most recognized events which kicks off over the weekend: the Antigua Sailing Week regatta.

Antigua Sailing Week was founded in 1967 and is held at the historic Nelson's Dockyard, in English Harbour. Since then, it has been cited as of the world's top regattas, attracting participants from many countries worldwide and at times has boasted well over 200 entries.

There are quite a few vantage points around the island for you to take in the sights of all the competing vessels, with the most popular locations being the Shirley Heights Lookout, Carpenters Rock and Fort  Berkley; all of which are within the English Harbour area.
